SYMPHONIC CHOIRS
Imagine typing words into your computer, in any language, and hearing a world class choir sing them in any key you play into your session. Recorded in the same concert hall as EastWest’s Symphonic Orchestra, these two blend together cohesively to form a powerful set of tools to recreate a large-scale ensemble in any song. Symphonic Choirs gives you the ability to separately control every section of a conventional chorus, with the addition of a boys choir. Created with film and video game composers in mind, the adjustable mic positions allow you to easily design the exact stereo image that will have the maximum impact on your mixes.
The versatile Wordbuilder present in Symphonic Choirs can reproduce virtually any words typed into it and play them back seamlessly with the power and grandeur of any entire chorus. You can type single words or entire phrases into the interface and control the exact length of each component sound (consonants, vowels, etc.) in a dedicated timeline. The greatest utility of this library is the ability to have incredibly fine control over every aspect of the vocal performance.
As Wordbuilder is completely phonetic, it can be used to assemble phrases in any language of your choosing, and you’re even free to “create” your own language if you choose! This feature is particularly useful for film and game composers: there’s a drop-down menu that includes popular pre-built phrases that you can load instantly, making this the ideal library for composers on a tight deadline. The phrases have been optimized for each Choir. The phrases menu is customizable so you can add your own phrases to WordBuilder for quick and easy access, making this the most powerful vocals solution available.
Lyrical and airy, its playable range extends to E6 (over two octaves past middle C)--virtually no passage is too high for these Sopranos to sing, offering you high flexibility without sounding "thin."
These rich altos offer excellent support to even the most ambitious vocal passages of the sopranos, and offer tremendous solo possibilities in their own right. Their range extends from F3 to A5, allowing you to venture outside of the normal performance area.
These tenors can execute any melodic vocal passage easily, owing to their tremendous range and fluid transitions between notes. Their range extends from C2 all the way up to a falsetto D5, giving you a more than 3-octave range.
Extending all the way from B0 up to D4, these Basses give you a more than 3-octave range--enabling you to go almost as low as you like to provide a rich foundation to any choir performance (without thinning at lower pitches).
There are moments where an adult choir simply doesn’t have the emotional impact of younger voices--with the Boys choir, you can render softer, subtler moments that require a lighter touch. Their range extends from C4 to B5.
An excellent quick-fix to hear your music performed by a massive choir simply by entering a few notes. Symphonic Choirs automatically adds any vocal parts in range of the note you pick (if it falls within both the alto and tenor ranges, both will sing), giving you a rich sustain excellent for background passages.
Alto, soprano and boy solo performances--they can stand on their own, but they’re especially useful when layered with a full choir, regally “floating” over the rest of the voices.
Dramatic and full of vibrato and emotional tension, these voices were added from the older sample library by the same name. Try layering these with the full chorus for a fuller, more balanced sound.
